Apostle Dr Michael Kwabena Ntumy was a Ghanaian pastor, missionary, and former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost whose life was defined by faith, service, and perseverance.
From his beginnings as a teacher and young minister to his years of church leadership and mission work across several countries, he became one of the most respected figures in Ghana’s Pentecostal history.
Born in 1958, Ntumy trained as a teacher before entering full-time ministry in 1984. He went on to serve as a missionary in Liberia, Côte d’Ivoire, France and Switzerland, and later led The Church of Pentecost as its fourth Chairman from 1998 to 2008.
He also held key roles in the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the Bible Society of Ghana and Pentecost University, reflecting his broader influence in Christian leadership and education.
His ministry was marked not only by growth and impact, but also by deep personal trials. Ntumy faced severe health challenges and the effects of conflict during his missionary work, yet remained a powerful example of courage, humility and devotion. He received national recognition for his service, including the Order of the Volta, and continued to inspire many until his passing in December 2023.
Ntumy’s legacy lives on in the church structures he helped strengthen, the lives he touched through missions and leadership, and the testimony of endurance he left behind. He is remembered as a servant of God whose life remarkably connected faith, leadership and national service.
