Otumfuo-Yere Julia Osei Tutu is the princess consort of the Ashanti Kingdom. She is the wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II.
Lady Julia Osei Tutu stands as a beacon of grace and leadership alongside Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the revered leader of Ghana's Ashanti kingdom. Born Julia Ama Adwapa Amaning on December 14th, she is the youngest child of diplomat Mr. S. A. Amaning and Mrs. E. A. Amaning from Akyem Abuakwa.
Her education spanned London, Accra, Berne, and Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast, leading to a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana in 1992 and admission to the Ghana Bar in 1994. She furthered her studies with a Master of Laws in International Humanitarian Law at Queen's University, Canada, and interned at Amnesty International's UN Office.
Lady Julia's professional journey includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana, private practice at Agyemang and Associates, and a Legal/Corporate Affairs Officer at Ecobank Ghana Limited.
Her commitment to humanitarian efforts is evident through her work with the National Partnership for Children's Trust and the Otumfuo Charity Foundation. Fluent in Twi, English, and French, she bridges cultural divides and engages in global humanitarian and legal dialogues.
