The Forestry Commission operates under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources within the Government of Ghana.

The Wildlife safeguarding Division is responsible for wildlife conservation and management, while the Timber Industry Development Division focuses on fostering growth and sustainability in Ghana's timber industry.
The Commission also houses two essential centers: the Forestry Commission Training Centre, which provides training programs to enhance forest management practices, and the Resource Management Support Centre, serving as a repository of crucial forestry data and information.
