Anthony Kwasi Sarpong: The man leading the charge at Ghana Revenue Authority

Anthony Kwasi Sarpong has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), effective January 21, 2025.

This appointment follows the resignation of the former Commissioner-General, Julie Essiam, on January 20, 2025.

The decision was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(1) of the Ghana Revenue Act, 2009 (Act 791).

Before his appointment, Anthony Kwasi Sarpong served as the Senior Partner at KPMG Ghana, where he provided strategic direction and oversaw the firm's operations to achieve corporate goals.

With over 22 years of professional experience in Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa, he has built expertise in audit, accounting advisory, corporate recovery, and insolvency.

He has been instrumental in leading some of KPMG's most complex cross-functional projects, especially in the consumer markets and financial services sectors.
