George Twum-Barimah-Adu, known affectionately as Uncle George, is making waves as an Independent Presidential Candidate.

Born on August 18, 1963, he is the third child of the late Frank Brako Adu Snr, a dedicated public servant fondly called Teacher Adu, and the late Beatrice Mariam Ama Acheampong, a government school teacher at Old Tafo.

Uncle George's lineage is distinguished, with his uncle being the late Kwaku Boateng Esq., a former government minister under Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

He is also the brother of notable figures such as Magaret Mary Adu (MD of Aomega Lodges), Frank Brako Adu Jnr. (former MD of CAL Bank PLC), and the late Joseph Boakye-Danquah-Adu (former MP of Abuakwa North Constituency).

His educational journey began at Castle Road Methodist Primary School (Adabraka), Englebert School (Airport Residential Area), and Garrison Primary (Burma Camp). He then attended Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC, Legon) from 1975 to 1980.

He earned a Master of Arts in International Studies from Florida International University on April 19, 1991. At FIU, he held various leadership roles, including Student Senator, Chairman of the Board of Governors for the North Miami Campus, Faculty Scholar, Member of the Faculty Scholars Executive Board, and Chairman of the Faculty Scholars Committee on Housing.
