John Ampontuah Kumah, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and entrepreneurship, was born on August 4, 1978. He is not only a seasoned politician but also an accomplished entrepreneur, preacher, and lawyer.
His diverse skill set and commitment to public service have marked his journey from leading the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) to representing the people of the Ejisu constituency in the Ghanaian Parliament.
Hailing from the farming community of Ejisu Odaho in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, John Kumah's early life shaped his commitment to community development. He attended Opoku Ware School for his secondary education before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Philosophy at the University of Ghana (Legon) in 1997.
Later, he earned an MBA in Finance from GIMPA in 2009 and holds a Degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Ghana. His academic pursuits also include a Professional Law Degree (BL) from the Ghana School of Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Business Research from the Nobel International Business School in 2019.
In November 2020, Kumah achieved a significant milestone by receiving a Doctorate in Business Innovation from the Swiss Business School in Switzerland. This was complemented by a Master's in Applied Research (Business Innovation) from the same institution.
John Ampontuah Kumah's career is characterized by versatility and excellence. Admitted to the Ghana Bar as a Solicitor and Legal Practitioner for the Supreme Court in 2013, he is the founding member and Managing Partner of Aduaprokye Chambers, a prominent law firm in Adabraka. Additionally, he founded Majak Associates Ltd, a construction company, showcasing his entrepreneurial acumen.
In 2017, Kumah assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, contributing over fifteen years of experience in leadership, creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness in job creation and youth development.
John Kumah's political journey reached a significant milestone in 2020 when he contested and won the parliamentary seat for the Ejisu constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Finance, he plays a crucial role in shaping economic policies and governance.

In his personal life, John Kumah is married to Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, the Founder and Senior Pastor of Disciple of Christ Ministries Worldwide. The couple has six biological children and has opened their home to numerous foster children, reflecting their dedication to family and community.

In 2019, he earned a spot on President Akufo Addo's list of the top 20 Most Humble and Respectful Appointees. The Africa Centre for Integrity and Development (ACID) awarded him for being the Most Outstanding Integrity CEO on June 20, 2019.
His influential leadership was acknowledged by GEHAB Events, where he received the award for the most outstanding CEO and Influential Transformational Leader. The All African Student Union (AASU) also honoured him for promoting student activism and entrepreneurship at its 6th summit in Ghana.
Demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility, John Kumah made payments for five different sets of prostheses for victims of road accidents in August 2022, exemplifying his dedication to improving the lives of those in need.
