Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta is a Ghanaian investment banker and politician who served as Ghana’s Minister for Finance and Economic Planning from 2017 to 2024 under President Nana Akufo-Addo.
A co-founder of Databank Group, he played a key role in Ghana’s economic policies, including overseeing the country’s debt restructuring efforts after a default in 2022.
Despite facing criticism and a failed parliamentary motion of censure in 2022, he remained in office until his removal in a cabinet reshuffle on February 14, 2024. Ofori-Atta, a former executive at Morgan Stanley and Salomon Brothers, holds degrees from Columbia and Yale.
He has also held leadership positions with the World Bank, IMF, and the African Development Bank.
