Felix Quaye Larbi, widely known in the music industry as King Maaga, is a talented Ghanaian Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall artiste who has steadily gained recognition for his unique sound and raw talent.

Born on May 19, 1994, in Asamankese, a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana, King Maaga's journey to the music scene has been shaped by a combination of hard work, passion, and perseverance.

King Maaga began his early education at Asamankese SDA Junior High School, where he also became a part of the Asamankese SDA Youth Choir at the age of 7.

His involvement in the choir played a key role in nurturing his love for music, laying the foundation for his future career. He later moved on to Asamankese Senior High School, where he pursued Business studies, further broadening his horizons beyond music.

As a teenager, King Maaga sought ways to support himself financially while chasing his dream of becoming a musician. He worked at a barber shop in Akwatia and, at the age of 19, ventured into radio presenting. His diverse experiences also included working as an assistant at a restaurant.

During this time, while assisting his godfather's mother, Jefri King, at her restaurant, King Maaga recommended that one of his friends take part in the MTN Hitmaker reality TV show, a suggestion that would soon lead him to the same platform.

In 2016, King Maaga seized the opportunity to compete in MTN Hitmaker season 5, a highly acclaimed reality TV show sponsored by MTN Ghana.

His impressive vocal abilities and stage presence helped him stand out, and he ultimately finished as the runner-up of the competition, earning widespread attention for his raw talent.

His success on the show opened new doors in his career. In 2021, King Maaga signed with A-Star Records, a label recognized for its commitment to professional artist management and the music business. That same year, he released his debut single under the label, marking a major milestone in his musical journey.

King Maaga's career took another significant turn when Ghanaian producer and beatmaker, Kaywa, who had been a judge on the MTN Hitmaker show, noticed his potential.

Kaywa brought King Maaga into his management fold, signing him to his record label. This partnership has played a vital role in shaping King Maaga's rise within the Ghanaian music scene.

To date, King Maaga has released several solo hits that have resonated with fans. His songs like Evergreen, Enough, Prayer, Must Get Better, and Never Die Poor have become fan favorites, each capturing different facets of his musical range and message.

He has also featured on numerous tracks such as Obaasima, Party Gbee, Man Down, I Can’t Feel My Legs, and No Long Tin, showcasing his versatility as both a solo artist and a collaborator.

With his unique blend of Afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall influences, King Maaga continues to grow as an artiste, earning a solid fanbase both in Ghana and internationally.
