Mzbel, born to the late Albert A. Amoah and Madam Agnes Nyarko, has carved a unique niche for herself in Ghana's entertainment and business spheres. Known for her significant contributions to the Hiplife music genre, Mzbel is also a thriving entrepreneur and advocate for social change.
She grew up in James Town, Accra, where she began her education at God of Wisdom Preparatory School. She continued her studies at Korle Gonno 1 and Owusu Mills’ JHS in Mamprobi before moving on to Abuakwa State College for her secondary education. At Abuakwa, she pursued General Arts, majoring in Economics, Geography, and French, laying a solid foundation for her academic and professional journey.
Determined to expand her skills, Mzbel enrolled at the Ghana Institute of Languages, where she trained as a bilingual secretary. To diversify her expertise, she simultaneously undertook a one-year program in television studies, public relations, and media production at Manifold Tutorial College. Her dedication to education and passion for media set the stage for her entry into broadcasting.
After completing her studies, Mzbel gained an internship with GBC Radio 1, where she hosted the children’s program Mmofra Kyepem. Her charismatic presence on air earned her recognition, but it was her foray into music that propelled her to stardom.
In 2005, Mzbel became a household name with her chart-topping hit 16 Years, which showcased her unique style and lyrical prowess. This success established her as a prominent figure in Ghana's Hiplife music scene and a pioneer for women in the genre.
Beyond her music career, Mzbel has ventured into business with remarkable success. She is the CEO of Mzbel Music and Bel Group, which encompasses several enterprises, including Bel Jam Records a record label, Bel Eye Media (a TV production company), Bel Kids Playground, a recreational center for children, and Bela’s Pub a restaurant and relaxation spot
Mzbel’s impact extends beyond entertainment and business. As a Global Ambassador for people with disabilities, she champions inclusivity and empowerment. Through her Bel Care Foundation, she demonstrates a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, focusing on supporting underprivileged children. The foundation frequently donates to orphanages and works to improve the lives of vulnerable communities.
