Prosper Narteh Ogum, born on November 5, 1977, is a prominent Ghanaian football manager currently serving as the head coach of the Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko and the assistant coach of the Ghana A' national football team.
His coaching career includes a stint with the Ghanaian team Ebusua Dwarfs. In addition to his coaching roles, Ogum is also a sports psychologist and an educationist.
Ogum's academic background is notable; he is a trained teacher and a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast in the Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER). He holds a CAF License A badge, showcasing his advanced coaching credentials.
In 2013, Ogum played a pivotal role in the qualification of Elmina Sharks to the Ghana Division One League. His career in the Premier League saw a brief period with Ebusua Dwarfs in 2016, after which he resigned to pursue his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program.
In October 2019, Ogum took on the role of head coach at Karela United, though his tenure ended prematurely due to disagreements with the management board.
December 2019 marked a significant step in Ogum's career when he was appointed head coach of the West African Football Academy (WAFA) ahead of the 2019–20 Ghana Premier League season.
His first season saw WAFA finish 10th in the league standings, a season that was ultimately truncated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the following season, Ogum's leadership propelled WAFA to a commendable 3rd-place finish, accumulating 56 points.
Ogum's achievements with Asante Kotoko are impressive. Under his guidance, the team won the Ghana Premier League in the 2021–22 season.
His individual accolades include being named the Ghana Premier League Coach of the Month in November 2021, January 2022, and December 2023.
He was also honored as the Ghana Premier League Coach of the Season for 2021–22 and received the Ghana Football Awards Men's Coach of the Year in 2022.
