Stories and facts

Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU), located in Wa, Ghana, began as Wa Polytechnic in 1999 and became a Technical University in 2020.

It admitted its first students in 2003 for Higher National Diploma (HND) programs in Agricultural Engineering and Secretaryship and Management Studies.

DHLTU offers seven Bachelor of Technology programs accredited by GTEC, fourteen HND programs accredited by CTVET, and various short courses. It specializes in Industrial Art and is structured into four faculties:

Applied Science and Technology (ICT, Building Technology, Estate Management, Hospitality, Dispensing Technology, Science Laboratory Technology)

Engineering (Agricultural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic)

Applied Art, Design, and General Studies (Industrial Art, Fashion Design)

Business School (Accountancy, Secretaryship, Purchasing and Supply)

The university is supervised by GTEC, governed by its Council, and funded by the state and GETFund. Its core values include quality, equity, transparency, team spirit, innovativeness, and environmental sustainability. DHLTU aims to be a world-class center for applied science and technology, focusing on career-focused education for rural poverty reduction and national development.
