The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) was founded in 1996 through an act of Parliament to oversee the prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts tied to disasters across Ghana.

Operating under the Ministry of the Interior, NADMO shoulders the responsibility of coordinating the efforts of government agencies, non-governmental groups, and local communities to ensure the nation is ready to face emergencies such as floods, fires, droughts, and other crises.
