A Dream That Took Root
Samartex was born in 1995, thanks to the Samartex Timber & Plywood Company, which envisioned the club as a recreational outlet for its community.
Little did they know, this modest idea would grow into something far greater. In their very first season, Samartex made an impressive leap from the Third Division to the Second Division of the Western Region football league, setting the tone for a future full of promise.
The years that followed were spent in the lower leagues, where the team honed its craft and built its reputation.
Then came a breakthrough: in the 2021–22 season, Samartex claimed the Division One League Zone 2 title, earning a long-awaited promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
From Underdogs to Champions
The 2023–24 season was nothing short of magical. Few could have predicted Samartex's rise to the top, but they defied expectations by clinching their first-ever Ghana Premier League title.
In a nail-biting race, they edged out Bibiani Gold Stars, sending their fans into euphoria. The triumph didn’t just earn them the championship trophy, it also secured their place in the 2024–25 CAF Champions League, giving them a chance to showcase their talent on the continental stage.
