Felicia Ewuraesi Abban, born in Ghana's Western Region, began her photography journey at a young age under her father's guidance.
By 18, she established her studio in Accra, gaining renown for her work capturing Ghanaian life. Collaborating with Kwame Nkrumah, she documented the nation's history. Abban's innovative self-portraits and use of clothing reflected Ghanaian women's evolving identities.
Her work, curated by Nana Oforiatta Ayim, has been exhibited internationally, and plans are underway to transform her studio into a museum. Abban's influence extends beyond photography, as she mentored notable figures in Ghana's creative industry. Her legacy continues to inspire, even after her passing in 2024.
