Joe Anokye is a prominent telecommunications industry figure known for his extensive experience across both public and private sectors.

Joe Anokye is a leading figure in the telecommunications industry with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Known for his expertise in telecommunications operations, national security, and cybersecurity, he has successfully managed critical IT and telecommunications projects throughout his career.

In November 2023, Anokye was honored with an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree at KNUST for his contributions to Ghana's telecommunications sector, following his lectures at the 12th R.P. Baffour Memorial Lectures.

Anokye currently serves as the Director General of Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) and has a strong educational background, including a degree in Geodetic Engineering from KNUST and an MBA from the University of Maryland.

His career highlights include a significant role at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where he supported 49 Space Shuttle missions, and his leadership in developing election results management software for Ghana's 2016 and 2020 general elections.

Despite facing controversy over alleged hacking during the 2016 elections, Anokye has maintained a reputation for integrity and excellence. As Director General of the NCA, he has focused on regulating Ghana’s airwaves and ensuring compliance within the communications sector, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the industry.
