The Ahafo Ano North Municipal is strategically located between latitude 60 47’N and 70 02’N and longitude 2026’W and 20 04’W. Its municipal capital, Tepa, is conveniently positioned just 70 kilometres away from Kumasi, the bustling regional capital. The area is bordered by five districts, namely Tano North Municipal and Tano South Municipal to the north, Atwima Mponua District to the south, Asutifi South District to the west, and Ahafo Ano South East District to the east.

According to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, the Ahafo Ano North Municipal is home to an estimated 94,285 residents, with a balanced gender distribution of 47,956 males and 46,329 females. The municipality's population plays a crucial role in its economic and social dynamics.
