Historical Achievements and Overview
Ghana made its debut in the Hockey World League during the 2016–2017 season. The team competed in the African group for Round 1, securing victories against Kenya, Namibia, and Nigeria.
Their performance included a remarkable 1–0 win over a formidable Kenyan team. Advancing to Round 2, Ghana faced Sri Lanka, Egypt, and China in Pool B, achieving a single victory against Sri Lanka.
However, the quarterfinals saw Oman defeating Ghana in a dramatic 4–3 match, leaving Ghana in sixth place in the overall rankings.
The team trains and prepares for international tournaments at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra, a facility named after the renowned Ghanaian hockey player and designer of the Ghanaian flag.
