Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has made significant strides in Ghanaian politics and governance, setting benchmarks for women in leadership.
In 2011, she broke barriers as the first female Presiding Member of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA), a role she held until 2013.
In the same year, she advanced further by becoming the 2nd Vice President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) and later achieved another milestone as the first female General Secretary of the organization.
Her leadership has been widely recognized, earning her prestigious honors such as the 2021 Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Federation and the title of “Most Inspiring Woman in Politics” at the 2019 Ghana Most Inspiring Women’s Awards.
A staunch advocate for women’s rights and social justice, she actively contributes to progressive organizations, including the Women’s Manifesto Coalition, Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF), and the National Coalition on Domestic Violence.
Today, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey serves as the Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency in Accra, where she holds the distinction of being the first woman to occupy this position.
