Deloris Frimpong Manso, popularly known as Delay, is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, television and radio host, producer, public speaker, and women’s advocate.

She attended Aburi Girls’ Senior High School for her secondary education and later studied at Methodist University College, Ghana.

Delay began her broadcasting career in 1999 at the age of 17 as a presenter on Life FM in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

In 2005, she moved to Accra to join Top Radio, where she hosted the mid-morning show until 2007. She subsequently joined Oman FM in 2007 and worked there until 2016.

During her time at Oman FM, Delay launched her own television programme, The Delay Show, in 2008 on TV3, which made her a household name. In 2011, she wrote and produced the popular television series Afia Schwarzenegger.

Through her production company, Maxgringo Productions, she produced another TV series titled Cocoa Brown, loosely based on her own life.

Apart from media production, Delay is also an entrepreneur who owns a company that produces canned mackerel and sardines.

In addition to her media work, Delay is a renowned public speaker who often uses her life story to inspire women and young people.

In 2018, she was a speaker at the International Youth Empowerment Summit (iYES) held at the National Theatre and has since spoken at several events, including the Women’s CEO Summit.

She is frequently referred to as the “Oprah Winfrey” of Ghanaian broadcast media. Through her entrepreneurial journey, she encourages women and youth to believe in themselves and pursue their own businesses.

Delay’s television portfolio includes The Delay Show and Cocoa Brown. Beyond media and business, she has also declared her ambition to become Ghana’s first female president by 2032, emphasizing her belief that women should occupy leading positions in society and governance.

Her outstanding work has earned her numerous awards and recognitions. In 2018, she received the Women Empowerment Award at the 3G Awards in New York and topped Pulse Ghana’s list of most industrious celebrities in 2017.

In 2019, she was appointed an ambassador for iYES, and in 2020, she won the Most Outstanding Woman of the Year as well as Outstanding Woman TV Personality and Entrepreneur of the Year at the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA).
