Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee is a distinguished Ghanaian diplomat who currently serves as Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Africa at the United Nations Secretariat.

She has a background in English, philosophy, and development studies, with additional studies in multilateral diplomacy and public administration. Pobee has held various diplomatic positions within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, including postings in Tel Aviv and Washington, D.C. She became Ghana's first female Permanent Representative to the United Nations in 2015.

Pobee is married to John Samuel Pobee, an Anglican priest and Emeritus Professor, and they were married at the University of Ghana in 1994. She is known for her devout Roman Catholic faith.
