Gloria Akpene Nyarku, widely known as MzGee, is a celebrated Ghanaian media personality whose influence spans more than a decade across radio and television.
Her dynamic career has seen her work with top media organizations, including Multimedia Group and Media General, where she carved a niche in entertainment journalism.
MzGee’s media journey began in 2005 at Eagle FM while she was a student at Cape Coast Technical University. She went on to join Skyy TV and Pravda Radio in 2008.
In 2014, she joined the Multimedia Group, where she became a familiar voice on Hitz FM’s Campus Show and Daybreak Hitz.
Her energy and skill soon led her to host her own TV talk show, Gee Spot, on Joy Prime in 2018, featuring guests such as MzVee, KiDi, and Ben Brako.
MzGee moved to Media General in 2019, taking up roles as host of Mentor and ShowBuzz on TV3 and 3FM. She gained further recognition as both a presenter and producer, before resigning in October 2021 after two impactful years.
Her achievements have earned her several recognitions. She was reportedly the first and only woman to serve on the 3Music Awards Board in 2019 and was named among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch in 2021.
She also won TV Entertainment Presenter of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards.
MzGee has covered major events like the Ghana Music Awards and the African Movie Academy Awards, further cementing her status in the media industry. Despite her success, she has not shied away from controversy.
On the personal front, MzGee married fellow media professional Raymond Acquah in 2017.
In 2025, she disclosed that they had divorced two years earlier and requested to be addressed by her birth name, Gloria Akpene Nyarku.
