Jerry Anaabaa, popularly known as Okomfour Kwaadee, originates from Navrongo in the Upper East Region of Ghana. His musical journey began with aspirations nurtured since childhood. After attending Martyrs of Uganda Preparatory School in Kumasi, he furthered his education at Navrongo Senior Secondary School. Little did he know that his dream of becoming a musician would materialize through the support of Vybetown Records, a subsidiary of Vybetown Entertainment Consult based in Kumasi.
Okomfour Kwaadee's debut album, titled 'Kwaadee', showcased his innate musical genius. Infusing powerful and traditional Ghanaian lyrics, he revolutionized the hiplife genre, taking it to unprecedented heights. His unique style returned to the grassroots, narrating stories akin to anansesem (folktales) while incorporating rhythmic rhymes. This approach captivated audiences of all ages, imparting valuable experiences and advice through his music.
The 8-track debut album was an instant hit, featuring standout songs like 'Kwaadee/Aboro ne Bayie' and 'Ataa Adwoa', propelling Okomfour Kwaadee into the spotlight as the artist of the moment. His subsequent album, 'Metoa Su', achieved even greater success, garnering nominations for Ghana Music Awards across various categories. In 2007, his song 'Ka Wonan To Su' clinched the Ghana Music Award for Best Original Song/Lyrics.
Despite his musical accomplishments, Okomfour Kwaadee encountered personal challenges, including a period of mental illness. Unfortunately, he is currently experiencing financial difficulties and is reportedly in a precarious financial situation.
