Otumfuo urges Telecel to safeguard Ghanaian jobs amid Vodafone share transfer

Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has emphasized the need for Telecel Group, the new owners of Vodafone Ghana, to prioritize job security for Ghanaian employees following their acquisition of 70% shares from Vodafone Ghana.

During a meeting at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on February 21, 2024, Otumfuo conveyed his expectations directly to Vodafone Ghana's CEO, Mrs. Patricia Obo-Nai. He underscored the importance of protecting Ghanaian jobs, promoting local talent to leadership positions, and investing in ongoing training to enhance skills.

Otumfuo also encouraged Telecel Group to focus on further developing the company, particularly in digitalization efforts. During the meeting, Mrs. Patricia Obo-Nai was accompanied by key members of Vodafone Ghana's leadership team.
