Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, born on June 26, 2001, has quickly become one of Ghana’s brightest young stars, blending success at home with notable achievements abroad.
His journey began with Rahimo FC in Burkina Faso, where he contributed to winning the 2018–19 Burkinabé Premier League.
Returning to Ghana in 2020, Barnieh joined Accra Hearts of Oak and played a crucial role in the club’s revival, helping secure the 2020–21 Ghana Premier League title, back-to-back FA Cups, the 2021 Super Cup, and the 2022 President’s Cup.
His outstanding performances earned him the SWAG Home-based Footballer of the Year awards in both 2021 and 2022, highlighting his influence on the domestic scene.
In January 2023, Barnieh embarked on a new chapter by signing a three-year contract with Swiss Super League side FC Zürich.
