The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has recently finalized a visa waiver agreement with the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, aimed at facilitating smoother travel experiences for individuals between Ghana and the Bahamas.

A circular issued by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) on February 20 outlined the purpose of the waiver, which is to alleviate challenges and inconveniences encountered by uninformed travelers transiting between the two countries.

Under this agreement, the visa waiver extends to holders of Diplomatic, Service, and Ordinary Passports.

The circular further indicates that the Government of the Bahamas has communicated its desire to inform relevant Ghanaian aviation authorities, airline companies, and services about the signed agreement. It emphasizes the importance of all entry and exit points, as well as relevant sections, to take note of this information and proceed accordingly.
