Born Gregory Bortey Promise Newman in Accra, Ghana, King Promise was influenced by diverse musical genres from a young age, thanks to his "musichead" father.

Aiming for global domination, King Promise believes Afrobeats will become the world's biggest genre, citing the success of artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy. He pursued education at De Kings Academy, Nungua Senior High School, and Central University, supported by his businessman father and trader mother.

His breakthrough came with the 2016 release of "Thank God," a collaboration with Fuse ODG. Signed to Legacy Life Entertainment (LLE), he works closely with producer Killbeatz and manager Gervin Ohene Addo.

King Promise continues to build his brand, captivating fans in Ghana and beyond with his infectious music and vibrant personality.

In a surprising turn of events at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), King Promise, Ghana’s highly acclaimed Afrobeat/Afropop musician, did not secure the coveted Artiste of the Year title.
