Emerging from the reconfiguration of the Afigya Kwabre District Assembly in 2018, the Afigya Kwabre North District was conceived as one of the 38 novel district assemblies established during that transformative period. Authorized under the legislative instrument LI 2333, the establishment of the Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly positioned Boamang as its distinguished capital. This marked an auspicious chapter in its history, ushering in new opportunities and responsibilities.

Geographic Coordinates

Spanning the central expanse of the Ashanti Region, the district finds its geographic coordinates between Latitudes 6° 840’ N and 7° 17’ N, as well as Longitudes 1° 70’ W and 1° 055’ W. Encompassing an area of approximately 228 square kilometers, the district encapsulates 0.94% of the entire land area within the Ashanti Region.

Delimited by administrative boundaries, the Afigya Kwabre North District shares its borders with Afigya Kwabre South to the south, Atwima Nwabiagya North District and Offinso Municipal to the west, Sekyere South District to the east, and Ejura Sekyedumasi Municipal to the north.
