As of the 2010 Population and Housing Census, the population of Agotime-Ziope District was recorded at 28,013 individuals, contributing to approximately 1.3 percent of the entire Volta Region populace. Gender distribution within the district is relatively balanced, with males constituting 48.2 percent and females accounting for 51.8 percent. Notably, the majority of the district's residents reside in rural areas, making up a substantial 75.7 percent of the total population.
The demographic structure of Agotime-Ziope District is marked by a sex ratio of 93.0 males per 100 females. The age distribution depicts a youthful population, with 37.6 percent falling below 15 years of age. Conversely, the older population is represented by a smaller segment, with 9.1 percent aged 60 years or above. This pattern culminates in a total age dependency ratio of 79.4.

Within the population aged 15 and above, a significant 79.4 percent are self-employed without employees, 6.2 percent contribute as family workers, 0.7 percent engage as casual workers, and 0.6 percent work as domestic employees (house helps). The district's employment landscape is primarily dominated by the private informal sector, employing 91.1 percent of the population, followed by the public sector at 5.4 percent.
