The district covers an estimated land area of about 1019 square kilometers (393 square miles). Its administrative boundary to the east separates the Ahafo Region from the Ashanti Region. To the north lies the Asunafo North District, while the Juaboso District borders it to the South-West. Additionally, the district shares borders with the Sefwi-Wiaso District to the South-East and the Atwima Mponua District to the East.
