Covering an area of 251.9 square kilometres, Atwima Kwanwoma District constitutes approximately 1.03% of the total land area of Ashanti Region, which spans 24,389 square kilometres. The district's capital, Atwima Foase, is situated about 20 kilometres from Kumasi, the region's bustling urban centre. Numerous other significant settlements within the district include Ahenema Kokoben, Trede, Twedie, Trabuom, Nweneso No.1, Atwima Boko, Foase, Brofoyeduro, Ampayoo, Krofrom, Kotwi, and Kromoase. In total, there are sixty-four settlements in the district, organized into two Area Councils and further subdivided into 33 Electoral Areas, facilitating District Assembly elections and governed under one Parliamentary Constituency.

As of the 2010 Population and Housing Census Report by the Ghana Statistical Service, Atwima Kwanwoma District was home to a population of 90,634, boasting a growth rate of 2.7%. By 2018, the population was estimated to have increased to 112,164. The age composition of the population reveals that the majority (55.31%) fall within the working-age group, presenting a valuable resource potential for the district's development. Furthermore, 40.68% of the district's population comprises children below 15 years of age.
