The municipality is primarily urban, with over 80% of its population residing in urban centers. However, there are pockets of rural settlements that are rapidly developing into peri-urban areas. This transformation is driven by the continuous development of housing and commercial properties, leading to a coexistence of traditional livelihoods and contemporary urbanization.

Key responsibilities include organizing sub-committee meetings, coordinating the Ghana school feeding program, and overseeing general assembly meetings.

This unit provides strategic direction for the procurement function, ensuring adherence to the Public Procurement Act and supervising store management and asset disposal.

The Security Unit is tasked with enforcing security measures in the municipality. It collaborates with security services, plans and executes security measures, and periodically reviews existing security protocols.

The unit is responsible for implementing and deploying IT/IM systems, maintaining computers and office accessories, and addressing IT/IM issues.

This unit focuses on coordinating procurement activities, managing the procurement plan, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly derives its functions from the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), specifically from Section 12. The Assembly's key responsibilities include exercising political and administrative authority in the district, promoting local economic development, providing guidance to other administrative authorities, formulating and executing plans for district development, promoting social and productive activities, developing basic infrastructure, preserving cultural heritage, ensuring public safety, and performing any other functions mandated by law.
