Situated in the central expanse of the Upper West Region in Ghana, the Nadowli Kaleo District occupies the geographic coordinates of approximately 11° 30' to 10° 20' north latitude and 3° 10' to 2° 10' west longitude.

Encompassing a total land area spanning 1,106 square kilometers, the administrative hub of the Nadowli Kaleo District is situated in Nadowli.

Geographically, the District shares its boundaries. It is bordered by the Jirapa Municipal to the north, while the southern boundary adjoins the Wa West District. To the east, it is contiguous with the Daffiama Bussie Issa District, and its western frontier extends towards the Ivory Coast.

As of the 2021 population and housing census, the populace of the District tallies at 77,057 individuals, comprising 36,993 males and 40,064 females.
